The Plymouth Whalers clinched the Western Conference championship by defeating the London Knights, 4-1, in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series Thursday night at the John Labatt Centre in London. Tom Sestito and Dan Collins each scored a power-play goal for the Whalers in the first period. Wes Cunningham added a second-period goal and Collins had an empty-net goal in the third.
